Although this may not be a great picture of them, it is the only one from the night that Rachel and Jose first met each other at a language exchange night at Pub Big Ben in Valencia.

Things got serious after Jose dropped the "L" word on a trip to Amsterdam.

They got their first taste of long distance when Jose moved to Barcelona for his Master's and Rachel stayed in Valencia.

Jose visited Valencia often. On this day, Rachel dragged him to a Valencia football game.

Jose traveled to NYC for the first time to ring in the new year.

When the pandemic hit, they quarantined in Valencia and spent many hours playing the guitar on the terrace with their roommates.

They moved to Versailles and spent countless hours wandering through the Versailles Gardens.

Jose got a job in Zurich and they both fell in love with Switzerland.

Rachel stayed in Paris to finish her Master's. There were many dramatic kisses goodbye during this time.

They celebrated Thanksgiving with Rachel's family in Paris.

Rachel finally moved to Zurich and bought some hiking boots!

Jose proposed to Rachel along the water in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. She said yes!

Rachel returned the favor by proposing to Jose in Las Casas de Alcanar, Catalunya. He luckily also said yes!

Their families united at their civil union ceremony at the Zurich courthouse.
